Inklination
History
HISTORY:
Inklination was started in Stoke Road in April 2002 by Kyra.
After many years of clinical research in the NHS Kyra turned her knowledge of anatomy and hygiene practices gained in operating theatres to a busy part-time career in body piercing. She then travelled to Miami (no, sadly not the guys at Miami Ink) to train as a tattoo artist. On her return she opened the studio and it soon became a small thriving studio.
Early in 2004 Ceri came to the studio. She already had some experience, this teamed with her previous career in art and graphic design and a lifetime growing up with professional artist parents led to her rapidly flourishing in this new career. Soon she was specialising in custom and free-hand work, winning awards at national conventions.
The studio was too small for 2 full time artists so in August 2005 the studio re-located to its current position in Bemisters Lane.
In 2007 Kyra decided on another life change! She left the studio to live on a narrowboat cruising the canals and is developing a career signwriting boats ( a bit like tattooing – a steady hand and no errors).
Kyra still looks after the business side of the studio with the invaluable aid of Ceri as studio manager.
Lizzie joined the team in 2006 helping out on Saturdays and school holidays. She is studying hard at college and hopes for a career in piercing and tattooing.
In Spring 2008 Helena and Gez joined the studio. They had both served apprenticeships in Gosport and have brought a great sense of fun along with their artistic skills. Helena displays some of her fantastic tattoo inspired canvasses at the studio. Gez is studying art at college and has just returned from a trip to America visiting galleries and learning new skills.
