CHOOSING YOUR TATTOO:

We aim to ensure that everyone gets the tattoo of their dreams – this is for life.

If you are unsure of what you want – you just want a tattoo because they look good – do not get one yet! You need to be sure, at least of the type of design and that ‘you will know it the minute you see it’ at the very least.

We have many resources here in the studio, from flash designs in folders and a display stand to magazines. A new computer system showing our own work and designs along with other design resources is soon to be installed.

If you have drawings of your own, no matter how rough, we will be happy to translate them into a professional design. You may bring almost any resource you like (no live animals, please!); we have taken designs from a pillowcase through to an archaeological artefact!

You may bring photos of people or animals for portraits with our specialist portrait artists.

If you are in the planning phase don’t forget the old fashioned resource of the local library along with the masses of pictures available on the internet. If looking on the net you may find it useful in a search engine such as Google or Yahoo to highlight the Image option (above the text box where you type in your topic); this will return just pictures of your chosen search without having to trawl through web pages.

Our artists love to do free-hand work but do not worry that you will have no input or not be able to see what you are getting till it is done. All free-hand work is drawn directly onto the skin with washable pen so that you can have your say on both the design and the placement.

If your design contains text, names or dates etc. check very carefully when your design is applied to the skin and tell us immediately if you are unsure of anything. It is very difficult to correct errors afterwards.

Do not be afraid to ask for changes, even at the last minute, and most particularly changes in placement as the stencil is applied; we can re-apply them as often as necessary. Even the most beautiful design will not look lovely to you if you feel it is too low, high etc.
